Let the dust settle and the books take shelf by Clint Newsom

Transformers casually put it that more than meets the eye. We deliberately took a space that is seemingly defined by its form and created a function perfect for its user by optimizing the prime spaces, views, and functional realms. We created an atmosphere designed in perfect harmony with the client's wants and needs to facilitate the optimal goals of the user.

Clint is a highly-trained young man with excellent credentials and a wide range of experience. You will find him to be a careful listener who can hear and understand your wishes and ideas concerning your new home. For example, in our case, we knew we wanted a home in the country with a wrap-a-round porch. Then as we discussed with Clint other ideas, he consistently asked the right questions to elicit details and was able to suggest ways to achieve our goals. We wanted our home to be a blend of modern and traditional. Clint was able to show us how a new and uncluttered look can be a “canvass” for earlier style furniture and for the valued antiques we possessed. He helped us preserve and capture the vision for our new home that is so important to us. He did an amazing job and the resulting home speaks for itself. We are very happy and completely satisfied.

form or function or both? by Clint Newsom

Vista [vis-tuh] noun
1. a view or prospect, especially one seen through a long, narrow avenue or passage, as between rows of trees or houses.
2. such an avenue or passage, especially when formally planned.
3. a far-reaching mental view:
vistas of the future.

Any way you look at it or try to define it, the design of Ranch Road was heavily influenced by the views and orientation of the form that facilitates the vistas the site has to offer. With equal attention given to the client's interior wants, needs, and dreams; we feel like we merged form and function to paint a beautiful story on a blank, yet opportunistic canvas.

In september of 2016, my wife and i began working with Clint of basis design on our forever home. We presented him with a large stack of house designs and ideas. Each picture or article contained something we liked or thought about including in our new home. He somehow sifted through them all and began to develop the plans which would eventually become the house we had long dreamed of living in. Throughout the process, Clint was extremely attentive to our desires and needs. He is a great listener and has an intuitive approach to planning and house design. He is that rare individual who was able to combine his very creative style with our ideas and concepts and produce a plan that begins with what the client desires and ends with a finished project that is both beautiful and practical and satisfying at every level. We absolutely could not be happier with the finished project. Clint’s ability to work effectively with builders and contractors and clients like us is a phenomenal asset when considering a project like a new home. we highly recommend basis design and Clint as an architect, designer and planner. If you have the privilege and opportunity to work with Clint, I guarantee that you will never regret choosing basis design.

you just got to keep livin man - l.i.v.i.n by Clint Newsom

From the famous words of Matthew McConaughey, "you just got to keep livin' man - l.i.v.i.n." Ranch Road is a place to kick back and enjoy some easy, country living. Although most people who live in the country might not all say it's that easy, but it sure looks pleasant. We are nearing completion on the Ranch Road project and very excited about the next few weeks of progress. Big thanks to G.C. Bobby Brock and crew with Keystone Fine Homes for all his hard work (www.keystonefinehomes.com). They did an amazing job and were a pleasure to work with.
